The Challenge:

The pandemic situation has brought more threats and opportunities. When it comes to Hospital industry there were big challenge facing in front of them. It is the need to create bigger and extended facility to serve the affected people on time. They wanted to created faster and reliable facility to cater to the inflowing patient every day. BALCO Medical Centre is also facing the same challenge where they wanted to create a faster facility to serve the COVID Patient. They wanted create a facility called Vedanta Cares Field Hospital and it should be built in 15000 sq. ft. with 90 beds equipped with Oxygen Support. The biggest challenge is that it has to be created in 15 days’ time.

Prerequisites based on analysis:

BMC wants a quick facility which should have following parameters:

1. Durability in harsh conditions and should suit the climatic condition of Indian Sub-continent
2. Suitability for use in hot and humid conditions
3. Structure should be light weight and highly reliable
4. Thermal and acoustics features
5. Several partition and structures to be erected as per the mandatory ICMR COVID requirements

Serge Ferrari Solution based on the Analysis:

Serge Ferrari’s high-performance Flexlight Membrane Roofing Solution covers all the prerequisites mentioned by the client as requirement and from the initial analysis report. Complete plan was devised with the partner – Shri Balaji Exim right from the blue print of the structure to the pre-fabricated panels for the interiors and it was meticulously planned. The truss was planned to accommodate the local conditions whether windy or rainy and cutting and welding of the Flexlight Membrane were planned according.

All the materials were assembled on day 01 to flag off the erecting process. As planned and expected the whole infrastructure was completed in record 15 days.
