The world’s largest meditation hall
This is the Kanha Shanti Vanam (Center for Heartfulness Meditation), located in Telengana state, India. It is, to this day, the world's largest meditation hall and can host 100 000 practitioners at one go.
The original design was of metal kalzip roof with space frame. Then the idea evolved and changed to membrane roof as it was more suitable for the place : a light and breathable material.
Finding the right design that serves the purpose has been a challenge, a total of 7 design options was submitted.
The ashram is made with our Flexlight Xtrem TX30-III and our Flexlight 1002 HT that combines high durability, aesthetics and excellent natural light transmission qualities. It uses as well our Alphalia Arena SW for its amazing acoustic performances.
